the sorrow of a world
united in prayer
asking for repose
for a soul who cared
his smile lit up our day
love that shone through in every way
his blessings so powerful
healing the sick, comforting the despaired.
now, over there he lies
eyes shut, never to open again.
his days in purgatory will soon end
then he will be placed at god's hand
the lives he touched
we will never forget
the noble on we lost
a leader so great
never will his memory grow faint
he leaves a legend
behind him a legacy
a string of miracles, memorable ones
as he joins those before him
we are assured he is taken care of
this, in loving memory of our holy father
who showed us all the way to our creator.
